Christ preached acceptance and love of your fellow man, and one of America's founding principles is the freedom of religion.

Every religion has extremists and problem people within it's ranks. When someone decides their answer is the only right answer, and that people that think differently are somehow beneath them, or that their piety gives them privilege, you promote a culture of elitism, which leads to extreme reactions that are justified in the name of god - no matter how you name him. Should we be considering banning churches near playgrounds (or Catholic Schools, or Altar Boys) because of some past issues with Priests? Every religion has it's historical heinous acts performed by evil people in the name of that religion.

This overt negative reaction is doing NOTHING to promote peace and understanding. Blanket condemnation of an entire group of people based on the acts of one portion simply increases the hate brewing, increases conflict, increases violence. Which is the devils work if you want to put it in religious terms.

Ergo, Satan is behind all the anti-Islam protests and those participating are doing the Devils bidding.Corynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1117825908751439839.post-9713437576277159592010-08-27T20:58:02.392-04:002010-08-27T20:58:02.392-04:00I don't get it either, Monica. Just the other day, a drunk college kid got into a NYC cab, asked the driver if he was a Muslim. When the cabbie said yes, the kid stabbed him in the neck. This is nuts, just plain nuts & it's got to stop.Jan Rifkinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15230619710238385865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1117825908751439839.post-6124157679782412152010-08-27T19:51:21.376-04:002010-08-27T19:51:21.376-04:00I just don't get it - we supposedly judge indi...I just don't get it - we supposedly judge individuals on their own actions, yet people are tarring all of Islam with the same brush because of the extremists of 9/11. Doesn't anybody study history? Hitler lumped all Jews together. Both Canada and the US are ashamed of their actions in interning citizens of Japanese descent during WW II on no evidence whatsoever.
Most Muslims are decent, well-behaved responsible people.Monica A.
